Ok, ok, I can take a hint. It tugs hard at the old heart strings knowing I'm being missed. I kinda miss the old gang anyway so I pop in and see what's up every few months.
I did have a boo-boo last Valentine's Day while riding with friends in Ky. The asphalt was wet, it was a misty rain, and my glasses were spotted & fogging with every exhale. We were riding up a narrow road in Ages (small town before Evarts) to get to the top and meet up with other RR's to finish out the Sweetheart Ride (annual event for them). There was a lefthand curve over a creek, no guardrail, and I didn't see it in time due to the condition of my spectacles. Off the Honda & I went, 8 feet straight down into the creek. It wasn't deep water, 8-10 inches at most in that spot. The Honda hit on the right front corner and rolled over the top of me as it was bucking me off. It landed on it's wheels next to me, still running & ready to go. However, I wasn't as able to go as it was.
I would post a link to the pics but the jerks over on webshots deleted them because there was nudity: my friggin bloody & swollen leg!!! I also had the pics of the Honda on there with the leg & the story of my wreck. After deleting it all, they sent me a nasty e-mail about it and all but read me the riot act. I hate to tell them, but I've seen scantily clad women on other people's webshots showing more than what I was showing.
Anyway, the damage to my leg was I tore the muscle from the bone from mid-thigh to just below the knee. Fluid built up between them and the muscle wouldn't reattach itself. I had surgery back in April to drain the fluids because the leg was 2x normal size. After the surgery to drain & install drain tubes, it was wrapped tightly with ace bandages to hold the muscle to the bone. I had to stay off the leg & keep it elevated for a month. I still have light swelling, which diminishes as time goes by, but the scars will be with me forever.
I'm going to get on my soapbox now. If it weren't for my helmet, ya'll would have been reading an obituary on me. My head hit solidly on a large rock in the creek bed. I have the helmet on a shelf as a daily reminder as to how lucky I am to be alive.
As for the Honda, it's still kicking but with a new owner. My sweetheart bought me a new Rhino to take it's place so she can go along with me. Not that she didn't enjoy riding on the Honda with me, but the Rhino is a bit more comfortable (and has a rollcage). We've been taking it to Royal Blue & Brimstone where we haven't had any close calls with drunk atv'ers.
See, I've been reading posts.
If anyone is wondering, I'm at the new Wal~Mart in Maryville on Hwy 411S. The store is almost directly across from Royal Oaks Golf Course if you need something to google for a location. I'm the Merchandise Supervisor (fancy new name for Department Manager) over the Automotive department. I ran Sporting Goods up until the end of August when I was asked to take the controls of a department that was out of control. I gladly accepted, I get better hours & more weekends off. Just stop by & say hello if you're in the neighborhood. I keep plenty of ATV & motorcycle batteries in stock. _________________ 2009 Rhino 700 EFI, camo, with J-Strong top & windshield, 26" Grim Reapers on stock rims, Smittybilt 3k winch, dome & cargo lights, 2-way radio, and a box of necessities in the bed.

Hey brother! When you coming back down to ride? I might have to get a permit and ride the rock for the first time in two years. _________________ 2009 Rhino 700 EFI, camo, with J-Strong top & windshield, 26" Grim Reapers on stock rims, Smittybilt 3k winch, dome & cargo lights, 2-way radio, and a box of necessities in the bed.

Better that than let them sit unused. _________________ 2009 Rhino 700 EFI, camo, with J-Strong top & windshield, 26" Grim Reapers on stock rims, Smittybilt 3k winch, dome & cargo lights, 2-way radio, and a box of necessities in the bed.

Actually he is most helpful with a beer in his hand, sometimes one fer me, too! But he has trouble with anything less subtle than a welder and a sledgehammer. _________________ quadabusers.com
