Re: November 24, 2012 Club Ride - Windrock Park

Did about 39 miles today. Met a few newer riders ( to windrock) and some older ones. Got a couple vids of todays ride. Will upload them later and post a link. Right now i got to rest.

Scotty did an excellent job of guiding us around today. I had a good time, hope to do it again sometime.

Scot

I've got the sxs fever myself! I really enjoyed the trail selection yesterday and am impressed with how the sxs's handle on those types of trails. The overlook on G9 is now my new favorite place at windrock!

:)
Great guides aren't made just overnight... they progress and they learn from each ride they do. Its quite a bit of pressure to lead a ride but you did just fine. You learn from each ride.
Maybe some other folks will step up and volunteer to be guides... it would be nice to have a variety of people to do some guiding. Not everybody likes the same kind of trails so a variety of guides would be a great asset to the club.

I was impressed with how smoothly it went with so many machines. No breakdowns, ScottyMac you hit the mother load with that. I betcha thats a record! If you decide to guide another ride, let us know.... we would be happy to join ya.

We had a great time on the ride too. It is always good to see new trails. Being from Atlanta, we don't get up there enough to ride them all.

I got some great videos, I'll post them once I have time to edit them down some.

There are a LOT more RZRs on the mountain than they are Commanders and there is a reason for that. If you want something more sporty and just use to ride, get a RZR. If you want something to do double duty and use it around the farm to haul stuff get the Commander. There is only one Commander that rides with our group. He gets pulled out of mudholes that the RZRs go through with no problem. Everyone pretty much runs the same tires. The Commander also stays on it's side more than the RZRs seem to as they are more top heavy. Oh, and I would suggest an XP, not an S. The XP has a MUCH better motor and drive train, much smoother ride and are more stable.

That's food for thought.... We've been looking at the S.... So now we have something else to consider..... But the XP is more expensive :(

Yes, but you get a LOT better machine. Ritchie's in Athens had a pretty good price on them recently.
