They work closely with those that maintain the riding area and help support all efforts to keep it going strong, so we encourage you to visit their campground when in the area. never been to any of these events, but i live in oak ridge and can list these places from closest to windrock to furthest away. most of them are in nearly the same spot, so it really will not make a huge difference one way or the other.

Super 8

Days Inn

Double Tree Inn

Hampton Inn

Comfort Inn

Jameson Inn

the double tree probably has the nicest facilities of any of them, along with the comfort inn. the most basic no frills one is the super 8.

as far as campgrounds go, i really don't know. melton hill dam is probably the nicest camp ground of the choices listed that i've personally been to.

hope this helps

Just to let everyone know, PriceLine does work. I got the Comfort Inn for $38 per night last weekend. Priceline adds on taxes and fees and it came to $50 per night. Not bad. This may not work for all times of the year but give it a try. You have to use the name your price option and specify 2 star hotel to insure the Comfort Inn is what you get.

I don't know yet if I am going. I was talking about the room I got for last weekend.
You mean that Lockheed has that many ATV riders?! We need to get together sometime. We have 4 regulars in our group and just rode with a group of 12.

Just to let everyone know, If you stay at the double tree or comfort inn in oak ridge, they have a deal worked out with the rush fitness complex (less than 1/8th mile from either hotel) that if you go and show your room key, you can work out for free!

Windrock campground now has bunk houses to rent it you don't want to sleep in a tent.
